Computer work, volunteer mini trees, flowers………

I spent over 3 hours yesterday morning working on my tutorial for the Grandmother’s Dream/Boston Commons quilts.  Now I have to reread it several times to be sure I have everything right and I will post it sometime this week.  My sashing fabric for the Stepping Stones quilt came today but I had some outside work that needed to be done instead of cutting.  My front flower bed had about 20 volunteer mini trees in it and I had to dig them out.  I also got rid of some Goldenrod and Asters while I was at it.  There is more work to be done but my short attention span had me moving on to something else.  Or maybe I should admit that I’m out of shape and couldn’t bend over one more time.
The last cactus bud has finally opened.  Pretty soon it will be time to set the plants outside for the summer.  Since I have so many they take turns out there.
I just needed some mindless sewing last night while I watched Castle so I sewed sets of triangles together.
Here is another view of my tulip bouquet.  They are so pretty.

  1. I've been dividing my time up between inside chores, outside chores and sewing too. I've got vegetables ready to go when it warms up enough.I also can only bend so many times. I had to buy a kneeler to get up and down with but can't kneel very long.

  2. I bought a Christmas cactus in December because I loved seeing your blooms. Mine is still alive, but no luck with blooms since the ones that were on it at the time of purchase.

  3. Have enjoyed your pictures. So funny because I also enjoyed a solitary Indigo Bunting for three days last week. I have started picking my sweet peas this week. Such similarities to Texas. I just watched the last of the Baltimore Orioles leave. My three Christmas Cactus plants are on my patio, one is budding so must not be a Christmas one. Of course I love the qulting projects.Lynda

  4. Oh yes, I know all about the bending over , I am carrying too much weight .Your bunches of flowers are so pretty . I spent £13 this week on flowers from the florist .I have Stargazer lillies in 3 colours and white stocks .

  5. I think my Christmas cactus is finished blooming, too. So I should put them outside now? And, do they like full sun, shade, or what? As you can see, I need all the help I can get. 😉

  6. I love tulips but can't put them in out here as the deer and woodchuck love them also. I have a tropical plant that I planted when I lived in Florida. Every summer it goes outside and thrives. It is time to put it outside again.
